#APPARATUS PILATES WUNDA CHAIR

Have you seen this Pilates apparatus?

It's the Pilates Wunda Chair. While most people know about the Reformer or the mat, there’s actually a full suite of apparatus designed to enhance your Pilates practice. These tools work together to build a stronger version of the Pilates mat exercises.

Why Use the pilates Wunda Chair?

The way a person gets into and executes an exercise reveals a lot about how their body responds to movement. From the moment you start your session, an instructor can identify areas to focus on and suggest exercises to address those needs. As you move, we may select the Pilates Wunda Chair for you to use.

At our Pilates studio, we often use the Wunda Chair for those who have a strong powerhouse connection but need to build strength. The Wunda Chair targets different muscles compared to the reformer, offering unique variations of mat exercises that challenge the body in different ways.

Side Note: The Pilates Wunda Chair is used in both the contemporary and classical method, but the design and structure of them is different.

Unique Attributes of the pilates Wunda Chair

Limited Surface Area

The Pilates Wunda Chair has a smaller surface area than the reformer, creating more instability. This means your core works harder to stabilize your body. Once stable, you need enough strength to move the pedal and work with or against the resistance.

SPRING STRUCTURE

The springs on the Pilates Wunda Chair are set differently than on the Pilates reformer. While the reformer’s springs move the carriage in and out along the Y-axis, the Wunda Chair’s springs follow a diagonal path, moving the pedal up and down along the Z-axis. This makes exercises on the Wunda Chair more intense.
